The Kabwe Campsite is located at the edge of the rich floodplains of the Kasanka River which offers some of the best game viewing in the park. Ideally located for visiting the hide at Fibwe and bat viewing during the bat season. View the beautiful Bufumu forest and the Chikufwe plains en-route to the Luwombwa Lodge where one can take leisurely canoe or motorboat rides. Guided walks with an armed guide along the western side of the Kasanka River can also be arranged from the reception at Wasa Lodge. Self-drive guests are welcome to go on their own game drives through the park.
There’s also guided game drives that can be arranged for those wishing to enjoy the experience in an open vehicle.
Elephant, puku and bushbuck are often seen from the camp site as well as an array of birdlife in the grassland and surrounding Miombo tree canopy.
The camp consists of 1 camp site with its own outdoor toilet, bucket shower and nsaka overlooking a very secluded open grassland on the edge of a Miombo woodland. Camp caretakers are on hand to provide firewood and hot water for the shower. Visitors are required to bring their own camping equipment and drinking water.
